Dena Beth Knutson (nee Lyle), a symbol of love and compassion, passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 60. Her life, born on September 8, 1964, was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her profound impact on children. Survived by her husband, Todd, children Joe, Anthony, Myia, Jeremie, and Madison Knutson, Dena's unwavering support and kindness left an indelible mark on their lives.

Dena, a Gardner-South Wilmington High School and Illinois State University alumna, exuded a passion for education. Her commitment extended to fostering a love for learning in the young minds she nurtured.

As a foster parent, Dena, alongside her husband Todd, provided love and care to over 100 foster children, embodying a shared dedication to making a positive difference. Dena's advocacy for the vulnerable and her courage were inspirational, traits she instilled in her children and those she fostered.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on May 30, 2025, from 2-6 PM.
