Danny E. Anderson, 86, of Coal City, IL, Dies at Morris Hospital

Danny E. Anderson, known as "Dan", age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. He was born on November 3, 1938 in Dwight, IL to Robert G. and Eileen (nee Sorensen) Anderson, and graduated from Dwight High School in 1956.

Danny married Gail Koca in 1960 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a Cement Mason for 62 years, retiring in 2018, and was a member of the Coal City United Methodist Church. He was a fan of Illini sports, the Chicago Bears, and enjoyed various hobbies including basketball officiating, history, and reading.

Surviving him are his wife, Gail; son, Chris (Mary Beth) Anderson of Coal City; two grandchildren, Justin (Allison) Anderson and Colin Anderson; two great-grandchildren; brother, Doug Anderson; sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Shawn Eric Anderson, brother-in-law George Koca, sister Darlene Bellis, and brothers Dean and DuWayne Anderson.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 9-11 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private. Memorial gifts in his name may be directed to Lightways Hospice or the Coal City Food Pantry.
