Reed-Custer Elementary School Education: 89 Hispanic students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 89 Hispanic students enrolled in Reed-Custer Elementary School in the 2022-23 school year, 30.9% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 634 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 14% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Reed Custer Community Unit School District 255U with a central office in Braidwood.

Among the three schools in Reed Custer Community Unit School District 255U, Reed-Custer Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 634 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
